OK, so, I just heard of it like a few minutes ago. I looked at the screenshots Steam has to offer, and it looks pretty awesome.
I read the description, immidiatley started considering purchase when I saw 'survival-horror' I want to know if this game is worth 1.99. By worth, I mean does it provide a good story, and is it ACTUALLY scary. I enjoy games like Slender and Amnesia because they send chills down my spine every now and then. But then other horror games, Dead Space for example, just lack horror because it's boring and repetitive, just zombies jumping out and screaming then you shoot it. Is this game worth it and how scary is it? Originally posted by:Awesome.
Thanks, guys. I'll probably get it then. Compared to Amnesia, is it scary? Just wondering. It is scary. Also due to the fact that you can fight the monsters you encounter it forces you to deal with them.
I expect you to die review. Mike Mahardy died many times on his way to escape in I Expect You to Die. He can now defuse virtual bombs in 10 seconds flat. GameSpot was provided a copy of the game for review.
In the later Penumbra games like Black Plague, you just run run run run from the fun.I don't like that. I like to deal with my enemies if possible. There is a moment too in the game that really made me go 'Oh god oh god oh god oh god' because I was forced run away from something I couldn't deal with.:). Amnesia is scary while being something like a softcore game.
Penumbra Overture, which I just started and already finished mines (first level), is more a hardcore, where you may or may not deal with your enemies (that's up to you). And they are tough. As I said, I played penumbra tech demo 5 years ago, which in my opinion was even more scary than Overture.
But that could be also my mind tricking me, you know, first experience and such. You really gotta play all frictional games.
And the price for penumbra collection is way below the fun you get with it. Originally posted by:Awesome. Thanks, guys. I'll probably get it then. Compared to Amnesia, is it scary?

I played for about thirty minutes, and have yet to even have a jump.
And in horror games, I actually prefer to run and hidebecause it makes it scarier. Like, all those zombie shooters people call 'scary' are just not. I don't think it's scary to go up with FRIENDS against about FIVE zombies with a MACHINE GUN! But, Overture isn't like that, and I do understand what you're saying.:)I don't really like going 'Oh god oh god oh god oh god.' I kinda prefer going 'HOLY MOTHER F.ING S. THAT B. IS JUST- F.F.F.F.F.F.F.F.F.F.!!!!!11!!!'
.You know?:D. Originally posted by:There is a moment too in the game that really made me go 'Oh god oh god oh god oh god' because I was forced run away from something I couldn't deal with.:)If it's the part of the game I'm thinking of, with the giant worm chasing you, and you have to throw switches, break down barriers, and get across TWO pools of toxic slime, it made me incredibly angry. I'd like to meet the person who managed to complete that on their first try. I think it took me at least 15 tries to finally get through it, and I had to Google for what to do (break the wooden pillar) in the final room.I hope there are no more situations like that in this game or in the next two.very unfair of the devs to do that to the player. I enjoyed every minute of the game up until that point. Originally posted by:I did get Overture. I played for about thirty minutes, and have yet to even have a jump.

.You know?:DThe game doesn't have jump scares that often. The only weapon you have is the hammer I believe and the dynamite sticks.
For me it was quite scary when I played it.But that 'oh god oh god' comes much later in the game. Originally posted by:, it made me incredibly angry.

I figured it out all by myself when I played it.In Black Plague I was never really scared except at some points.
Because I knew I could just run away from everything as that was the whole point of it. When I knew where I was going I just ran past those enemies like nothing.

Well, there is that pickaxe. And I already found an 'oh god' part. It's that damn dog that's like half-eaten and has glowing eyes that appears out of nowhere behind corners. Ok, stupid dogs. Made me jump and scream like a little b.
I was running away and believed to be in the good, but no, the dog was right next to me and started to kill me again. Gun bros download for pc. Next time through. I'm dead again, and again, and again. Once I outsmarted it and locked it in a box, I was able to get away. The game is fun and draws you in. I have a hard time sticking to a game, but this one is quite a bit of fun and keeps me coming back to find out what is gonna happen to my character in the story line.
I recommend buying this game. Originally posted by:Ok, stupid dogs. Made me jump and scream like a little b. Sounds like a great adventure.:D I figured out how to lock the dog in a box, too, but I didn't want to because that would take away much of the fun.
