Review title of Unknown SongPop 2. I can't play this game. I either have to sign in facebook or give a e-mail address. I'm not on facebook and never will be. I should not have to give my e-mail address to play this game. I'm uninstalling!

I joined with the purpose to play through David’s Vlogs party. I had been playing since it started. It should show you everyone that is playing everywhere. I was taking screenshots when I would pause to remember my place and score. As the end time started approaching, I was making sure I stayed in the top 3.

I remained in 2nd place, or so I thought up until the very end when I got 200k points and got 1st. Again, that’s what I thought. The party was over and I couldn’t even screenshot my place, which according to what I saw was first place. I was excited because it’s actual prizes, and I had even paid into the game because from what I saw on my screen I was beating the other people. I had to wait.

The “results” were in and the pictures of the people don’t even match what I have on my phone. I am definitely confused and give this 2 stars for the fun I had but 3 for the money I used to pain into false information. I even went on the actual site to see what they scored and I mean it just looks very fishy. Very disappointed. I absolutely LOVE all the new features in the new one. Like: see the percentage until you can unlock more songs, party feature, and just the appearance overall. Love the original song pop app, but I love this one even more. Also gotta say the party feature is my favorite bc I love you can guess so many more songs, compete with more people, and play at any time. So much love for this app. One complaint is when you would finish your turn you could see the songs put in an envelope and whoosh away, and now when I'm done all I see are ads.

I liked seeing it whoosh away, I understand the app needs to have ads, but could they show up every time I finish my turn because it's getting annoying af. Other than that, all time favorite app. Another complaint I have is now the mastery streak boost is only for those who have VIP. I had almost gotten all five and had to lose it bc I didn’t have VIP. So I just think the boost shouldn’t be restricted to only VIPs.

SongPop 1 is a head-to-head music trivia game. The free app was released in May 2012 by FreshPlanet, a venture-backed, NYC–based startup. It is available for iOS, Android, Windows, and Facebook.^[1] By 2015, the app had been downloaded 100 million times.

In July 2015, SongPop 2, featuring over 100,000 songs and 1,000 curated playlists, was released.^[2]SongPop 2 is free-to-play with in-app purchases.^[3]

Gameplay[edit]

The game is played much like the popular TV show Name That Tune.^[4] After selecting a themed playlist, five songs are played. Players compete against each other to be the first to select the correct song title or artist from a choice of four. iTunes links are provided for each song.^[5] In SongPop 2, users can play alone for the first time, competing against a computer-controlled opponent.^[6]

Interface[edit]

SongPop asks players to choose the name of a song or the artist of the song, with a four option multiple choice interface. The faster a player guesses, the more points they get. Players can remove two songs by using song note chips.

Critical reaction[edit]

SongPop 1 was awarded Best Facebook Game 2012, Social Gaming People's Voice Winner 2013, and Best Online Game 2013 by the British Academy Games Awards.^[7]

Songs may include explicit lyrics. For this reason, iTunes rates the game 12+^[8] and is rated 16+ by Common Sense Media.^[9]

Soon after its release, Mark Zuckerberg posted on Facebook 'Song Pop is one of the most fun Facebook games I've played in a while.'^[10]
